Enigmas under Examination
a new poem!
Another poem in this Poetry month!
Enigmas under Examination There are enigmas— sea glass odd musical tangents a superior sense of direction spiders dreaming in wayward webs an angular voice that consistently interrupts— a spacious meditation under star-shaped lights Booze and Brilliance the high pitch of a hammer on a steel sheet my inability to forget her expression long after the silence had eroded the emotions and the distant chariots and the fire clogs I wore to the funeral I wore them out I should have taken an extra pair— Max Wolf Valerio, April 15, 2026
Have a great week. Read a poem, write one, share one. Set one on fire.

Your art never ceases to engage me and lead me on to further contemplation in my own life. I read, and reread, every poem and savor them with a good cup of coffee early in the morning when my life is my own, at least until the chihuahuas demand their morning constitutional. Your work is something I appreciate as a special treat...like a fine wine after dinner. Thanks Max.
